Bonding can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misaligned. Tooth bonding has both cosmetic and restorative benefits to help patients obtain their desired smile. Dr. Noemi Cruz-Orcutt is highly trained in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and would be able to assess your teeth and smile in order to determine if this would be an ideal treatment for you.
How does it work?
The tooth usually requires minimal preparation, the surface is lightly etched, and a bonding liquid is applied and cured with a UV light. Once the liquid cures, resin composite is placed and sculpted into the desired shape. Once set, the resin is contoured, smoothed, and polished to a natural appearance.
The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit, and can improve the appearance of a tooth significantly. Dental bonding is a cost-effective treatment to help patients with cosmetic concerns. Dr. Cruz-Orcutt may recommend porcelain veneers for a more permanent restoration. Dental bonding can last for years with routine dental visits and good oral hygiene habits.
